I am excited to return to VCCA as a Fellow for a two-week residency in the spring of 2022.

Summer 2021:
Summer Mei Ling Lee and I were named finalists for a large-scale public art project at the University of Pennsylvania’s new Data Science Building.
In April, 2021 I spoke at the art forum hosted by Shangqi Art and curator Yang Yong. The day’s theme was “Building an Entrance to Multiple Futures through Public Art.” You can view my video remarks by clicking the link below.
I was invited in the fall of 2020 by Shangqi Art to create a permanent public artwork at this site within OH Bay Cultural Park in Shenzhen, China.

Summer Mei Ling Lee and I have made an online meeting performance that continues our ongoing series addressing distance and longing that increasingly figures into this heightened moment. We are debuting An Atlas of Absence through the exhibition Falling Up curated by re.riddle as a part of the Ars Electronica Festival.

California Council for the Arts: Artists Activating Communities Grant Recipient with the Chinese Culture Foundation San Francisco.
I have had such a wonderful experience mentoring three emerging artists who have been working in Chinatown for the past 6 months. Vida K., Shisi Huang, and Bijun Liang have made works that activate the community through a variety of approaches including an interactive installation inspired by the Chinese wishing well, a movable chatting room sparking in-depth conversation, and multi-sited audio portraits based on interviews and a storytelling workshop.
